I love Whanau - The description of my cats

My brothers cat Gracie is very shy and frisky. She once had a infected butt because another cat chomped it. She’s a bit of an anxiety cat, well a lot of anxiety cat. She loves food! Actually Gracie’s a bit of a puda cat when it comes to food. Her favorite place is my Dad's lap because I think Gracie has a crush on my Dad. Gracie is a tortoiseshell cat.

My cat Poppy is playful and exciting. Her favorite places to sleep are the washing basket ( she gets fur all over the clothes) and my bed. Sometimes she tackles her sister Gracie. I like patting her because she is very soft. She’s a friendly cat as well. She is black and white and her eyes are green.

Kitty Cat to Cool Cat

Hi, I'm going to talk about the kitty cat cool cat.

Once upon a time there was a lonley kitty cat. The kitty cat had no friends. But one day the fairy kitty godmother came to the lonley kitty cat.The kitty godmother said " you will now be the cool cat!" It released its star power on the lonley kitty cat. 🌟 The lonley kitty cat made lots of friends and had a happily ever after. THE END!

Artefact BP

My Artefact is a river in the middle of the forest.
Its purpose is to display a river
I made my Artefact with blue cellophane, a cardboard box, sponges, and paint.
I had a challenge when I had to do something in the front area because I had to think of what I should do.
My Artefact is 10/10

Crazy Shoes

On Wednesday at Parkvale school, it was crazy shoe day. I did a kahoot about it. It was a very good day. That day we also did kapa haka practice.

If you want to do the kahoot just ask me!
 Here is the link:

Matariki activities

Yesterday Rimu hub did Matariki activities. The day before we had chosen which activities we were doing. I did the taonga, paper lanterns and the storytelling. Here is a photo of me and two other people making our lanterns.
The taonga turned out really well here is a picture

It took me a while to figure out how to do the taonga but I did it in the end! Matariki day was really cool.

Day 14, 15 and 16.

Day 14
Today was the big performance. We had a dress rehearsal that went from 8:30 am to 12pm and the real show started at 1:00 pm. In my
break at 12pm I had a unicorn hot chocolate and this is what it looked like ( well kind of, I started drinking it as soon as I saw it. It had an icecream cone 'horn'filled candy, blueberry hot chocolate, whipped cream, rainbow sour lolly straps and glitter sprinkles).
The performance was so much fun. Nana, Aunty Bid and Mum came to watch me. At the end of the show I got a gold medal for doing BBO Dance Days. I loved it and really hope that I get to go next year. Next year it is in Christchurch.
On the way back to Nana's house we we stopped at Fisherman's Table for dinner. It was very dark when we got back to Feilding.

Day 15
Today we drove back through Waipukurau. I made it for my jazz and tap class but was too late for ballet. I was very, very tired but it was important to go because their important in three weeks! After dancing I went to Waipawa to see my friends in 'The Sound of Music' play. I thought my friend Arabella did really well. I gave her a huge hug at the end.
Finally it was time to go home. My Poppa Renzie and his girlfriend Cath had come to visit. We played bananagrams which was lots of fun.

Day 16
Wow, the last day of the holidays. I came into the gaming room and played a plane video game with my little brother, I was the spitfire plane and he was yellow plane. When everyone woke up we decided to go for a drive to Napier. We went to a cafe, marine parade, the beach and Otatara Pa where tribes of Maori people lived many years ago.

Day 13

Today was the last day of BBO Dance Days. We spent the day rehearsing our dances for the show tomorrow. I got an NZ School of Dance t-shirt as souvenir.  My Mum bought tickets for my Nana, my Aunty Brigitte and herself. The tickets are really cool, this is what they look like:

My ballet shoes broke and we had to go on a mission to find a dance store to buy some new ones. They feel comfortable and are really nice to dance in. I also got black jazz pants for my tap dance. The last thing I got is very special and something I have wanted for a long time. A tiny pointe shoe key ring. I want to keep doing Ballet and get really strong so I can dance on pointe when I'm old enough.

There are teen girls on pointe at dance days and it looks really challenging but fun!

Day 11 & 12

Tuesday was my second day of BBO Dance Days. I have learnt the whole ballet dance, it is called 'Innocence' and we are using white, orange, blue and pink fake flowers as props. My flowers are orange. I really like the dance and I am excited about performing it on Friday.
At break time I had a caramel slice and a rasberry fizzy drink from the cafe, they were delicious! I also learnt most of the jazz, tap and musical theatre dances and had a very technical ballet syllabus lesson. I know all of the ballet syllabus for Grade One but these lessons will make me even better which is good because there are exams in August.

Today at Dance Days we finished all of the dances. My Musical Theatre dance is from the movie Hercules and it is really fun. I also like my tap dance because we are cats and cats are my favourite animal! Tomorrow we will be fixing up any mistakes and making sure the dances all look good for the performance on Friday. I am so excited!

Day 9 and Day 10

20170716_085407.jpgToday I left my Nana and Grandad's house to go to Wellington.  Nana and Grandad's cat Jonesy ran up and down the hallway meowing like a cat alarm and woke everyone up at 4:30am!  When we got to Wellington we went to Te Papa. At Te Papa we saw an enlarged version of the Treaty of Waitangi. It was very hard to read as the handwriting was so old fashioned and it was in pieces but there were also printed translations in English and Maori. The Maori version was different from the English translation which is why there have been lots of arguments in the past.
20170716_121549.jpg20170716_121425.jpgI also saw some beautiful Kauri gum nuggets (Amber) that were very old and had bugs frozen in them. The gum was very hard and smooth. Another cool thing I saw was a large mobile of sea creatures hanging from the ceiling. Te Papa is one of my favourite places to go in Wellington.
The next day was the first day of BBO Dance Days 2017! I was very, very nervous as I walked into the NZ School of Dance. There were lots of dancers who had come from all over the country and I was the only one from my dance school (except my dance teacher). I got over my nerves and I think I did really well. I am learning four new dances that will be performed at the show on Friday.
My Uncle Marcus, Aunty Brigette and baby cousin Marco all came to visit me in my break. Marco is a real rascal and he is very cheeky and funny. He has learnt to walk and climb.

My heels were killing me at the end of the day after several hours of dancing in four different styles! When I got back to our hostel I did a big fish flop on the bed because I was exhausted!

Day 8

Day 8

Today my Mum and I were driving around like headless chickens. We were trying to go to Feilding but… first we went to the Gorge because we lost the way when we we driving then we went to the Pahiatua track and then we realized that the Saddle road was open because it was after 3:00pm so we changed direction.
I didn’t want to go on the Pahiatua track because Mum said it was twisty. The Saddle road had lots of potholes in it. We made  it to Feilding in the end and that was the mission.

We are staying in Feilding at my Nana and Grandad’s house and tomorrow we are driving to Wellington!

Day 7

Today I watched a lego Scooby Doo movie on Netflix and played dinosaurs. When we were playing dinosaurs my brother was the Plesiosaur and I was the Brontosaurus.
Mum also made playdough and we played with it and made playdough pizzas, animals and fruit. My playdough was pink and Aiden's was green. We mixed them together which created a cool marbled effect.

Day 6

Thursday  Yay Day

Today I played with my brother, we made robots, we drew dragons and we made an imaginary giant fart cannon out of green lego bricks. It was so funny!
I also did some jobs, including feeding the cats. They went crazy as they LOVE tuna cat food. I think it stinks! Yuck!  My cats were delighted and very smoochy as they loved their dinner. I patted them afterwards and they went to sleep with big, fat, full tummies :-)

In the evening, we watched an old movie called ‘Gremlins’ on Netflix.

Day five

Me in my cat PJs doing the peace sign sitting by my lego house.

Today I played with my lego and watched The Sound of Music movie. I am going to see the play next week to watch some of my friends from my old school and my old piano teacher. She is going to be the main part, Maria! I made a whole house out of lego bits and some of the legog people I had stayed in the lego house.
The vehicles were Batgirl’s Batjet Wonder Woman’s motorbike  and a blue motorbike. My lunch was delicious! I had bliss balls,  salted peanuts, apples, and a jam sandwich.

Tuesday, 11 July 2017

Day Four :-)

Today I went to the dentist, I was very nervous but it turned out that my teeth are great! Then I played in a playground with my brother.
We went to Kmart, again! Lastly, we went to Lone Star in Napier. I went to Lone Star as an reward for a good report plus I had a voucher from winning a colouring in competition. It was very dark when we drove home and the moon looked like a glowing orange!

Food Fun:

Today I went to the Doctor as my little brother has an ear infection. He has to have lots of medicine! Later we went to Jitterbugs for some new dance tights, then we went to Mitre Ten Mega and The Warehouse.
20170710_164154.jpgThen my brother and I drew native birds for a Columbus Coffee shop competition. I hope we win! I also played with my brother and watched Power Rangers with him.

Not my story!

               NOT  MY STORY!
“Woah, woah!” I was falling down a hole with nothing but black. I landed on all four of my paws. Hundreds of cats were staring at me. I thought this is Bluestar’s story Then one asked “Bluestar aren’t you going to say something?”  I realized it was Tigerclaw the clan deputy. I saw Fireheart and Graystripe they were staring at me too. I beckoned the two clan warriors over with my tail.
I whispered to them “ I’ve got feathers in my throat from the fresh kill I ate earlier will you do my speech for me?”
The two cats nodded. I leaped off the high rock and padded into my den. I swiped the curtain of leafs that was the door of my den and then I entered. I thought I should see Cloudkit and the other kits in the nursery.

          THE END!

Hastings Boys High Kapa haka

Today Hastings Boys High came to Parkvale school and did some of their kapa haka and Pacifica. The Pacifica group sounded like they did a Moana song at the start and at some bits they did really funny actions. They had a drum person and the drum was really loud. It nearly burst my ear drums! Secondly, the Maori group came in and three of the boys did poi and singing while the others did actions and singing.  I could smell sweat during both of the groups. It was a good time.

At lunch time yesterday Emma, Malachi, Kayden (Malachi and Kayden are brothers) and I played Star Wars tag. Emma was Rey, Malachi was Luke Skywalker, I was Ahsoka Tano, Millie was R2D2 and Kayden was BB8

"Oldest is in  first!" Emma yelled. "R2 run!!" I yelled. "OH, I'll run Ahsoka!" Millie yelled.           Rain started pouring down. Malachi was 'in' but then "RING, RING, RING, RING!" the rain bell rang. Sadly and slightly soggy, we went into our classrooms. Malachi went into Room 15, Kayden went into 16-17 and Millie , Emma and I went into Room 21. Then we did SSR. (Sitting Silently Reading).

My Autumn writing

When I walk around there’s orange leaves everywhere. I feel like I’m in a caramel ball.
At night time I turn my electric blanket on and snuggle close to my soft toys.  We normally eat pizza for dinner and the warm heater’s always on. The weather in autumn is weird because it's cold in the morning then warm in noon, then cold in the night, evening and afternoon. If I think autumn’s cold I’m in for a surprise in winter! I like autumn. Especially in the holidays when I get to drink hot chocolate.

Story starters the best first day

Story Starters - What Happens Next?
WALT entertain the reader
Success Criteria:
  • I have used my best spelling and punctuation
  • I have planned my writing - a clear plan that shows my ideas
  • Start most of my sentences with different words
  • I am continuing the story so that it makes sense and solves the problem from the story starter.
  • I am using paragraphs to help structure my story
Which story will you finish?

Start your plan in the table below:
Title of story: Best first day EVER!
What’s happened in the story so far (summary).
What happens next...
How I finish the story...
It's William’s first day and
He needed to make a good impression. An elephant had escaped from the zoo and came into the school. His wheel chair has super powers. When he flips the secret switch.

The navy comes and accidently shoots a DNA bullet instead of a tranquilizer dart. Turns elephant evil and elephant grows a moustache.

The boy uses the peanut cannon to defeat the moustache elephant. He’s a hero at his school and each time he comes to school he gets worshiped with 1 thousand fizzy's.

William called the navy and they accidently shot a DNA bullet instead of a tranquilizer dart.
The elephant turned EVIL and even grew a moustache! It has a black cape too.
William looked on his wheelchair’s holographic internet. It said “peanuts”. “PEANUTS?!” William shouted.
But he just remembered he had a peanut butter cannon built in his wheelchair. He fired it at the elephant and the elephant was consumed by a ball of light. Then when he came out no moustache.
William still stayed cautious but when the elephant hugged him with his trunk he knew he was good.
Now he’s a hero at his school  and each time he comes to school he gets worshiped with 1 thousand fizzy's.

Camp letter

Dear Mrs Reid,

Thanks for being at Moore road camp. I liked doing the object sketch with you. It was fun at camp. ;)

Mt. Bruce Picture

Yours sincerely Amelie H.

To the editor

To the editor,
Our Rivers and streams are being polluted. We, Rimu hub parkvale school hastings, want to stop the pollution. Rivers and streams are important to us because of the fish that live in them. Fresh water streams are important because we can drink from them. We also go in them. We also go swimming and do water sports in them. And just the beautiful feature of the landscape of streams and rivers. You’re probably wondering “how are the rivers and streams being polluted?” Well they’re being polluted by the rubbish that’s being thrown in them, the chemicals, the sewage, the cow manure, animal waste and the cut-down trees. We could form a river and stream clean -up crew! You know to help stop the pollution.

From Amelie Hanham! At parkvale school rimu hub hastings. All thanks to Mr. Blakey ;)!

Mt. bruce

                     Mt. Bruce
Mt. Bruce Picture
It’s a long way to Mt. bruce from Moore road camp. We sat in the room that has lots of bird statues. The bird statues look so realistic. Then The lady named Chloe opened the door to the balcony that looked over the Takahe. They're dark blue, black and have a red beak and also have orange feet. They kind of look like a pukeko! Only rounded more!! We saw a kokako. The kokako could say it's own name! We  went into the free flight aviary. This was my favourite part! At last we saw manukura! Manukura is the white kiwi. She looks like if you touched her she would be sooo fluffy! She was playing tag with her boyfriend! Haa it was a very tiring but good day!!!!

It s call sounds like a smoke alarm.the brown kiwi is  endangered because of the amount of predators it has. You can see the  brown kiwi at mt bruce. You can save the kiwi!
